DIPLOMA PROJECT OF URBAN SCULPTURE- MANTA RAY

I’d like to present my diploma Project- urban bench, called Manta Ray- ‘sea devil’, which was my main inspiration. The assumption was to create furniture that gives the impression of being alive.
Its quite complicated and organic form is balanced as well by horizontal as by vertical axis- orderly chaos;) I wanted to achieve synthesis between functional furniture and sculpture.
Visually sharp edges contrast with streamlined surface. To make the design more provocative I provided the option of differentiation in finishing between external and internal side. If the material is translucent, the bench may serve as a kind of lighting.
The armchair can be used as a separated piece or create an unexpected design effect joining to the other pieces and becoming a module of a rippling structure. The linear compositions can appear in two rows also.
Its look goes great in modern urban spaces, both exteriors and interiors. The bench is made of polypropylene in injection technology which enables mass-production and economical material usage.

PROJECT OF CROCHET ARMCHAIR

This armchair on runners is inspired by crochet fashion and open-work light forms. The design of this  piece of furniture leaves space for uder's criativity- other weave crochets which change the general look of the armchair.

PROJECT OF RECEPTION DESK FOR NORDEA OFFICE (FOR MARTELA S.A.)

The reception desk is designed as a continuation of Nordea logo- I maintained the curved lines which as gaps highlight the solid parts of the desk.
